About Us

The Gravel Hill congregation is a group of around 65 people who gather together to worship God the way he prescribes in the Bible. We follow the Bible as our only rule for our worship and our life.

Things you may notice about our congregation:
We do not use mechanical instruments of music. There is no authority in the New Testament for the use of such instruments in the worship of the church. Church historians are in complete agreement that there was no mechanical instruments used in the worship of the church until at least 700 years after the church was established. To use mechanical instruments is to go beyond what was written in God’s Word.

We gather for Bible classes, as well as worship services on Sunday mornings AND evenings. We believe that the more we study the Bible, the better Christians we can become.

We have literature available on our back table on a variety of subjects, from baptism to Mormonism and Evolution. We encourage people to take as much of this as they may need and spread it out to others as well! We have Gospel publications as well as many tracts for your reading and edification.

Our sermons are filled with scripture. As popular as “feel-good” or “story-telling” preaching may be, we believe that the Word of God is what needs to be preached. We believe that Paul’s statement is true: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).
